This sucks, but with good results

So C came home tonight and informed me that she is being transferred to another store.  She doesn’t want to go to this store for several reasons.

1) It’s a 24-hour store which means she works on rotation and is back on graveyard some weeks
2) It’s seriously understaffed
3) this store has TONS of theft
4) this is some kind of bullshit “test” given to her by district.  If she passes the test, she presumably gets the promotion she was passed over for a few months ago.  Since she came in under a higher pay scale, the promotion wouldn’t be that much of a raise

The good part about all this?  She’s currently upstairs applying to take classes at the community college that she needs as prerequisites for the Pharm.D program to become a pharmacist.  This is the exact thing I’ve been trying to get her to do for a while now, so good.  While she’s at it, I hope she looks for a new job as well.  She is consistently taken advantage of by this company and, as far as I can tell, the entire corporation is poorly run.  I don’t know how they stay in business, being this stupid and backwards.  And I’ve told her many times that by the time she’s ready to start the Pharm.D program there’s nothing at all keeping us in Austin.  I’ll be done with my program by then, and we can go wherever.  And I REALLY want her to be a pharmacist.  Aside from the fact that she likes it and would be great at it, the starting salary is sick.  And there’s a national shortage of pharmacists, so we really can go anywhere.  So send prayers and good juju our way!!

Maybe this is the push she’s been needing.
